Welcome To My Photography Blog!

profile

My name is Sharon Mallin and I am a natural light portrait and on-location photographer based in the Blue Mountains, NSW. I specialise in children and family portraiture and birth photography. I live at Faulconbridge (in the gorgeous Blue Mountains). I am happily married and have two beautiful children ~ a very active handsome little boy and a precious little girl.

One of my favourite photography quotes is by Sandra Edwards, and is one that I draw great inspiration from:“A photograph is not only a reflection of people. It is a reflection of compassion, love and memories of good times”.

I hope you enjoy my photography blog! Feel free to leave me a comment so that I know you stopped by.

Personal Project ~ 10 on 10: Taking 10 images on the 10th day of each month (of my family and everyday life).

This month’s 10 on 10 images were taken as the sun was setting and the kids were on their way up to have a bath. I had been out shopping with friends and it was about 6.30pm before it dawned on me that it was the 10th. So I quickly pulled out my camera and went in search of something that would capture a memory of this day. My search did not last long – I went upstairs to find my two boys having a little nerf war.  Light was fading and so these images are a little grainy and noisy – but I am not at all phased by that. Their faces and expressions are what make my heart happy about these images!

The Astle Family {Blue Mountains Photographer}

May 9, 2012

A couple of weeks ago on a beautiful autumn afternoon I photographed on of my closest and dearest friends, and her beautiful family.

Since I am only booking limited sessions this year, I thought I would blog a larger than normal sneak peek. This session was filled with lots of love, laughter and cuteness. I adored every minute of it!

Steph ~ thank you for allowing me to share this beautiful afternoon with you and your family. I hope you enjoy this sneak peek. I am truly blessed to be walking this journey of life with you by my side.

Personal Project ~ 10 on 10: Taking 10 images on the 10th day of each month (of my family and everyday life).

This month’s 10 on 10 images are of my husband and I, as we enjoy a quiet child free day at home together. I love and adore this man. I don’t think I can quite put into words how very much! I can not think of another living person I would rather chose to share this journey of like with. He is an amazing father to our two beautiful children, and I know that he will love and respect me all the days of my life.

(Taken with the assistance of a tripod and remote).

Personal Project ~ 10 on 10: Taking 10 images on the 10th day of each month (of my family and everyday life).

Welcome to my 10 on 10 Project!

After my January Photo-A-Day Challenge finished this year, I said to myself that I was going to make a conscious effort to keep taking photographs of the kids throughout the year. The memories they bless us with are truly priceless, and well worth the time and effort.

Not long after making that promise to myself I stumbled across some other photographers who were doing a photographic project called ’10 on 10′. They were taking 10 images of everyday life on the 10th day of every month. Straight away, I thought “yep, this I can do!’. And that is how we have arrived to my first ’10 on 10′ post.

1. Barbies.

2. Cuddles with Mercury.

3. Pancakes in bed for Mummy.

4. Nail polish time.

5. Creating a staircase cubby.

6. Napping.

7. Peek-a-boo.

8. Making Barbie beds.

9. New foot swing.

10. Homegrown.
