Welcome To My Photography Blog!

profile

My name is Sharon Mallin and I am a natural light portrait and on-location photographer based in the Blue Mountains, NSW. I specialise in maternity, newborn, babies, children and family portraiture. I live at Faulconbridge (in the gorgeous Blue Mountains). I am happily married and have two beautiful children ~ a very active handsome little boy and a precious little girl.

One of my favourite photography quotes is by Sandra Edwards, and is one that I draw great inspiration from:“A photograph is not only a reflection of people. It is a reflection of compassion, love and memories of good times”.

I hope you enjoy my photography blog! Feel free to leave me a comment so that I know you stopped by.

A Special Celebration {Blue Mountains Photographer}

July 11, 2010

Last night we joined in celebrating a special lady’s 40th birthday. Colleen was surrounded by family and close friends for a night of ‘Dessert and Dancing’ at the Springwood Sports Club.

As soon as I walked in to the room – I could not help but look around with a loving smile at all of the little “Colleen Touches” ~  lots of  pink  and pearl helium filled balloons, lots of photo collages on the walls (of  the birthday girl showing her journey throughout the past 40 years), pink rose decals on the walls for a little added decoration, and  little pink and cream paper cut-out balloons for people to write individual birthday messages on.

Between the cheese and fruit platters, the very yummy cheesecakes and chocolate mud cakes, the 80′s music, Ali’s birthday cupcakes and the beautiful speeches and toasts made in honour of this amazing lady … I think it is safe to say that there was a lot of fun and laughter had by us all.

Here are a few photographs I took.

Colleen – I hope you enjoyed your special night. Thank you for sharing it with Jonathan and I. We are very blessed to have you in our lives. You are a joy and an inspiration! xo.

InspireMe 2010: Boudoir Session {Blue Mountains Photographer}

May 20, 2010

On the Sunday night, an Off Camera Flash workshop was set up by Ainslie from Wild Spirit Photography. We had 2 gorgeous girls come in and model for us in a boudoir type session. While I havent really done a boudoir type session before – it was fun, and it was great to get an insight into this technique.

Ainslie – thanks for a great night! And I also must say a thank you to the 2 girls who put up with a lot of flashes going off and were very patient with all 12 photographers.

I thought I would also blog some pictures (from the Wild Spirit Photography Blog) of the mansion house we stayed at. It was tough work! :)

January ‘Photo-A-Day’ Challenge: Day 28 {Blue Mountains Photographer}

January 28, 2010

Day 28: Self Portrait Day

I thought I should be fair to the rest of my family (who have done so very well indulging me and this ‘Photo-A-Day’ challenge for January) and venture on the other side of the camera for at least one day this month. I should note that I had the help of ‘Assistant Benny’ to push the shutter button :)

So without further ado … here I am!

January ‘Photo-A-Day’ Challenge: Day 23 {Blue Mountains Photographer}

Day 23: My Soul Mate

This man is the best husband and father I could ever have asked for or imagined to share my life with, and father my children. He is loving, kind, patient, giving, respectful, forgiving, considerate … I could go on and on.

We celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary in March, and I am filled with excitement and joy to walk hand in hand and share in this life together. I have truly been blessed!

“I love you not only for who you are, but for who I am when I am with you.”

And one last photo of our darling Jessie – she has been quite sick for the last 24 hours or so. She has had a good sleep this afternoon and some nurofen, and went outside in the nice cool breeze for some fresh air (which is when I took this) – so we are hoping she is on the mend!
