Welcome To My Photography Blog!

profile

My name is Sharon Mallin and I am a natural light portrait and on-location photographer based in the Blue Mountains, NSW. I specialise in maternity, newborn, babies, children and family portraiture. I live at Faulconbridge (in the gorgeous Blue Mountains). I am happily married and have two beautiful children ~ a very active handsome little boy and a precious little girl.

One of my favourite photography quotes is by Sandra Edwards, and is one that I draw great inspiration from:“A photograph is not only a reflection of people. It is a reflection of compassion, love and memories of good times”.

I hope you enjoy my photography blog! Feel free to leave me a comment so that I know you stopped by.

InspireMe 2010: Gorgeous Kids {Blue Mountains Photographer}

May 23, 2010

After we left the Wild Spirit Photography’s studio – we headed to Beenleigh Historical Village. This place was amazing … a photographer’s dream! There was all sorts of lovely rich colours, props and textures – but most importantly,  some gorgeous kids that were ready, willing and able to model for us.

One of the things I will take away from this workshop is the difference styled clothing options can make to the end result. A hat, a scarf, layers … they really can make a difference.

Just a little warning – there are quite a few photographs in this post … about 20 all up I think :)

A big thank you to all of the kids that came along to model for us, and to the parents for making the effort. We really appreciated it.

InspireMe 2010: Itty Bitty Newborns {Blue Mountains Photographer}

May 21, 2010

On Day4, the final day of the workshop – we had a Portfolio Building Day. We headed off to Ainslie’s studio and waiting for us was these gorgeous little newborns.We also had a lady that was 36 weeks pregnant that we were also able to photograph – but more about that in my next blog post.

Each one of the babies was so very precious. I was able to photograph 2 of the babies – a precious little girl using studio lighting, and a gorgeous little boy utilising natural light.

Ainslie, Dani & Mark – thank you for all of the hard work that went into organising the Portfolio Building Day. It was a really valuable experience that enabled us to put into practice some of the tips and skills that the Ashley, Brianna and Raye spoke about. Thank you also to the parents that entrusted their precious little ones to us for the morning.

He is 3 1/2 months old now and getting cuter by the day! I was babysitting for Steph one afternoon a week or so ago, and so couldnt help but get my camera out for a few quick photo’s.

The Bawcombe Family {Blue Mountains Photographer}

February 13, 2010

Today I had the pleasure and privilege of photographing Brad, Nicole and their extended family once again. I first photographed this gorgeous family about 12 months ago. Nicole’s extended family is down visiting again from interstate, as they are here to join in the celebrations for Sarah (the newest addition to Brad & Nicole’s family). She is being christened tomorrow.

Brad & Nicole – thank you for a great session this morning with your family. Thanks for rolling with the weather, letting me re-arrange your entire living room and for letting me get your kids very wet. I’ll be in touch soon. Goodluck for Sarah’s christening tomorrow.
