Welcome To My Photography Blog!

profile

My name is Sharon Mallin and I am a natural light portrait and on-location photographer based in the Blue Mountains, NSW. I specialise in maternity, newborn, babies, children and family portraiture. I live at Faulconbridge (in the gorgeous Blue Mountains). I am happily married and have two beautiful children ~ a very active handsome little boy and a precious little girl.

One of my favourite photography quotes is by Sandra Edwards, and is one that I draw great inspiration from:“A photograph is not only a reflection of people. It is a reflection of compassion, love and memories of good times”.

I hope you enjoy my photography blog! Feel free to leave me a comment so that I know you stopped by.

The Reid Family {Blue Mountains Photographer}

June 12, 2010

This afternoon I met this gorgeous family in one of our local parks.  I am blessed in many many ways knowing this family and calling them friends. Colleen is one of the most generous and inspirational women that I know – and so it was absolutely my pleasure to photograph her family today. It was an added bonus that this session was full of laughters and giggles … just the way I like it!

I thought I would share a poem that I recalled tonight when I was preparing this blog post …

FAMILY

Author:  Glenda Campbell

There’s a special kind of closeness
that only families know,
That begins with childhood trust
and deepens as you grow.

There’s a special kind of happiness
in sharing little things,
The laughter, smiles, and quiet talks
that daily living brings.

There’s a special kind of comfort
in knowing your family’s there,
To back you up, to cheer you up
to understand and care.

Of all the treasures life may bring,
your family means the most,
And whether near or far apart,
That love will hold you close.

Scott & Colleen: I hope you enjoy your sneak peek. Your children are gorgeous – as are the two of you!

Inspireme 2010: The Love Between Mother & Son

June 2, 2010

This was the third family group I photographed on the Portfolio Building Day at The Spit in Southport.

This is the lovely Simone and one of her gorgeous little boys. Simone was a part of our group for the Inspireme workshop. It was great to meet her and leave at the end of the four days as friends. It was also great that her family was able to come along to the portfolio building day to model for us.

By this stage of the afternoon, the light was fading and Simone’s family were not far off leaving – but when I saw these two mucking around – I couldn’t help but take a few shots. I just love the interaction between them!

InspireMe 2010: Another Gorgeous Family {Blue Mountains Photographer}

May 27, 2010

This was the second family I photographed on the Portfolio Building Day at The Spit in Southport.

By this stage of the afternoon, the sun was getting closer to setting – so the sun haze and light was just beautiful. Combine this with a gorgeous family and a gorgeous location … what more is there to say!

“A family is a little world created by love”.

InspireMe 2010: Families {Blue Mountains Photographer}

May 24, 2010

After we left Beenleigh Historical Village, we headed to ‘The Spit’ at Southport. We were met there by many gorgeous families – again who were all ready, willing and able to model for us.

I will blog each of the families I photographed separately. I started with this gorgeous Mummy and beautiful twin little girls. The long grass  and the light was just gorgeous. I think I literally could have stayed there photographing the interaction between them for hours and hours.
