Welcome To My Photography Blog!

My name is Sharon Mallin and I am a natural light portrait and on-location photographer based in the Blue Mountains, NSW. I specialise in children and family portraiture and birth photography. I live at Faulconbridge (in the gorgeous Blue Mountains). I am happily married and have two beautiful children ~ a very active handsome little boy and a precious little girl.

One of my favourite photography quotes is by Sandra Edwards, and is one that I draw great inspiration from:“A photograph is not only a reflection of people. It is a reflection of compassion, love and memories of good times”.

The Astle Family {Blue Mountains Photographer}

A couple of weeks ago on a beautiful autumn afternoon I photographed on of my closest and dearest friends, and her beautiful family.

Since I am only booking limited sessions this year, I thought I would blog a larger than normal sneak peek. This session was filled with lots of love, laughter and cuteness. I adored every minute of it!

A Visit To Cockatoo Island To Celebrate Love {Blue Mountains Photographer}

A couple of weekends ago I met up with my friend Caroline from Mihaja Photography in Sydney. She was down to photograph the engagement session of Andy & Bec, who are due to marry in April in Queensland. Andy & Bec were such a gorgeous couple and it was a pleasure to once again shoot alongside Caroline. We caught the ferry across to Cockatoo Island and spent the next couple of hours exploring all of the wonderful things the Island has to see and do.

I can’t wait to visit here again!

A Beautiful Sydney Engagement Session {Blue Mountains Photographer}

On Saturday I met up with my dear friend Caroline from Mihaja Photography. She was down from QLD to shoot an engagement session with the gorgeous Oscar & Lucy. I love shooting alongside Caroline – she is a consummate professional.

I will do a full blog post over the next week or so, but wanted to post a few photo’s from the session. Oscar & Lucy are marrying in May 2012 and it was lovely to spend a couple of hours with them in some fabulous Sydney locations, especially on such a beautiful sunny afternoon.

Another Sydney Engagement Session {Blue Mountains Photographer}

Another glorious Sydney autumn afternoon ~ another gorgeous Mihaja Photography couple to help photograph at The Rocks in Sydney. I love photographing people at the Rocks – there are so many quirky little lanes and buildings to utilise as backdrops.

It was also lovely to be able to catch up again with Caroline over the Easter weekend. Two visits in two months, and a few visits coming up over the next few months = fun times! She is so great at what she does, and I love being able to meet up and shoot with her when opportunites like this come up.
