I arrived home today from the most amazing 4 days in my photography career to date. The ‘InspireMe’ workshop, hosted by Wild Spirit Photography, was held in a very luxurious mansion on the Gold Coast. I was able to meet and network with other photographers from across the country, and learn from some inspirational world renown photographers.
I am still taking in and processing the vast amount of information that we were so freely and selflessly given by each of the speakers. It was truly an amazing experience – and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the 12 other photographers that attended our workshop.
The international speakers that came in to speak to us were Ashley Skjaveland who specialises in newborn photography, Brianna Graham who spoke about child photography, and Raye Law who specialises in family photography (as well as maternity and newborn photography). We also had Greg Dries from Moods Photography in QLD come in to speak to us on the last night about business and marketing.
Day 4 was set up as a Portfolio Building day – so we had the chance to go and photograph some gorgeous newborns, children and families – which was a great opportunity to put into practice some new techniques that we learnt from the speakers.
I will no doubt be posting quite a few photographs from the workshop over the coming days and weeks – and since I can not post without a photo, here is a gorgeous newborn baby boy that I photographed on the Portfolio Building Day.
Ainslie, Dani & Mark – thank you for all of the effort and hardwork you put in to make InspireMe 2010 so … well to sum it up in one word – inspiring! xoxox
